Ron Mueck is a London-based photo-realist artist. Fiberglass resin or flesh? I just thought this too cool not to share…

No, that is what is so impressive about this artist. These are all made from fiberglass resin.

I’d like to know what inspires him to make such realistic works of art in such a wide variety of sizes? It makes me wonder if he wishes to place an emphasis on the meaning of some and not on others, or if it’s simply just a choice driven by momentary inspiration. I find these works realistically disturbing and incredibly overwhelming (in a good way!) at the same time. I’d love to witness these pieces in person and examine for myself the meaning behind each pieve, if indeed there is any. Thank you for posting them!

Saw Ron’s work while in Australia a couple of years ago, his work is beyond words. They look very real, if it weren’t for their size. They’re either gigantic or quite small.
    A must see!
