Meg Wheatley and Deborah Frieze just came out with a book that is sure to be inspiring.  Titled, Walk Out Walk On: A Learning Journey into Communities Daring to Live the Future Now,” the book conveys stories of the people that the women met from their work at The Berkana Institute.  It hopes to mobilize people worldwide towards strengthening their communities.

Dear friends,

For years now, you’ve been hearing us tell stories about people building healthy and resilient communities: Kufunda Learning Village in Zimbabwe, Shikshantar in India, the Warriors Without Weapons program in Brazil, among others. Finally, we wrote the book.

On April 11, 2011, Meg Wheatley and Deborah Frieze’s new book, Walk Out Walk On: A Learning Journey into Communities Daring to Live the Future Now (Berrett-Koehler Publishers) will be released. This book is filled with intimate stories and portraits of the people and places we at Berkana have come to know through years of working together. Our lives, work and ways of thinking have been transformed by these experiences and relationships; we hope these inspiring stories will do the same for you.

We at Berkana see Walk Out Walk On as more than a book; we recognize it as a movement that many of us are a part of, and we’d like to share these stories with as many people as possible. To do that, we’re launching a series of events and activities, and invite you to join us.
