Enough of Extremists
As the Israel Policy Forum stated in its recent newsletter (below), enough is enough. Atlanta Jewish Times owner Andew Adler’s call for PM Netanyahu to allow for Mossad agents to take out the US president and replace him with someone more friendly towards Israel is shocking and appalling. His point of view is extreme and will not aid Israel in the ways that he may imagine.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Israel Policy Forum today released the following statement:
Israel Policy Forum is shocked and appalled by the column published in the Atlanta Jewish Times by its owner and publisher Andrew Adler calling for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “to give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies."
Adler puts to shame Jewish values, reneges on American patriotism and discredits journalism. His statement of regret is clearly not sufficient. Adler told reporters that he was attempting “to get a reaction.” He is rightfully getting one from the Secret Service for threatening the life of our President. He should also get a strong, loud and adamant reaction from a united American Jewish community—We will not stand for this.
Enough is enough.
We are tired of extremists on the fringes of the political spectrum dragging the US-Israel relationship into the mud. Adler’s remarks are just the latest and most extreme example of how the discourse in the Jewish community has gone awry when it comes to issues concerning the future of the State of Israel. The US-Israel relationship is too important for the Jewish community to tolerate this any longer.
Israel Policy Forum will soon announce a new effort to bridge the gaps that divide our community and bring together the vast majority of American Jews – from across the political and denominational spectra – in support of a simple goal: reason.
It is a simple message, but one that has clearly been lost amidst the noise emanating from extremists like Adler.

Extremists Bring out Extremists in Lebanon
Al-Akhbar in Lebanon (which favors the Hezbollah opposition coalition) reports that the weakness of the Hariri Movement will create a void that will be filled by Salafi groups intent on waging Jihad to defend Sunni Islam against Shiia infidels. While the source is suspect, it evinces a real trend towards further destabilization and tribalism, which [...]

How Obama Saved the Day in Cairo

Read more about this laudable decision below, or watch this [...]

A little more PROOF about the radical absolutist expectations of the extremists attacking efforts to end the conflict…
When the "Boycott" campaign against OVP started in earnest a few weeks ago, one of my staff members suggested we just explain to them the OV platform, and provide detailed answers to the many false accusations and mischaracterizations they were making. I explained I had had discussions with several people from these groups in the [...]

Why Obama’s guidelines are important for a Jewish state
According to a recent Op-Ed by Amb. Stuart Eizenstat, it is essential for the American Jewish community to recognize that President Obama’s broad principles provide the key to a safe and secure Jewish state. WASHINGTON (JTA) — A strong secure Jewish state of Israel, supported by the United States as a close ally, has been [...]
