It is striking how often we resort to recasting our fallen leaders into molds of perfected humanity.  No matter their flaws, once assassinated, their death transforms them to immortal epic heroes. In re-casting our fallen, we humans do not just pay tribute to their courage and compensate them for their lost years.  We also re-write [...]

Al Gore and "me"

Published under Environment, Global, Marketing Apr 06, 2008

At the Skoll World Forum, Al Gore spoke poignantly about the imperative of joining forces to rescue our planet.  If enlightened self-interest is to mean anything, it has to be that our personal well-being is dependent on the well-being of our planet.  And each of us has to share in the responsibility to prevent climate [...]

We are very proud and grateful of SKOLL’s generous and energizing support of our social entrepreneurship, as detailed here.

Clive Crook’s column in the Financial Times today (3/3/08), "Clinton Gets it Sincerely Wrong," is sadly on target.  Senator Clinton does not have a particularly charming or personable personality, but that was not her greatest undoing.  Her greatest undoing was trying to become something else.  Margaret Thatcher was comfortable in her own skin as a [...]

Clif Bars is one company in the healthy snacking arena that KIND inhabits that I find a very worthy and also admirable player in the space.  Here they came up with a very creative and positive contribution against environmental waste.  Not sure how far this can get us but it is definitely a step in [...]

It is the right’s version of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report, among my all-time favorites, only [...]

I often worry about how the recent technological changes will affect society. I particularly am concerned about the impacts of constant-feedback-technology (blackberry, cell, email, voicemail, sms, i.m, – you need input, input, input – like the robot in the movie Short Circuit).  Will attention-span-disorder (like I have) become a regular feature of society? Will today’s [...]

My friend Carmella had commented I looked like an angry assassin at the beginning of this CNN interview.  Now that I saw it, I couldn’t agree more! I hate fake smiles when you are waiting, but now I understand why politicians give those long phony grins.  Anything is better than that scary seriousness!

Thanks to Janera Soerel for an exceptionally explicit and precise interview and article tackling a lot of issues revolving OneVoice, PeaceWorks, and the philosophy underlying them.

Take a look at this message from Stefan Stagmeister, the famous designer who created the OneVoice symbol …the entire wall reads "Self-Confidence Produces Results." Can you guess how this was written?  Here is a hint. Click on the "MORE" Tab to the right here to take a look… Bananas – some ripe, some green…their shades [...]
